Virtual-Team presents you an amazing and exclusive interview with the portuguese dj, Kouroush Tazmini, the one that recently released the video of the song “Can U feel love” featuring Anda Adam!
“Can U feel love” is the song that we already talked about it with Anda Adam, in an interview published in December. Anda told us since then, that the song is already very popular in Portugal, Kourosh’s origin country. Only six days past since the video was released and is already counting 250.000 views, a really great number since this is the the first video in the portuguese dj’s career.
About it we wrote in the exact day of it’s appearence, in an article posted here. We admit that we loved the result and to prove it we sent a request about an interview to Kourosh Tazmini, who approved it. In this way, we got to know a lot of things about the one who Anda Adam collaborated with, about the story behind the song “Can U feel love”, but also a lot of other really interesting things!
Is the first interview that Kourosh Tazmini is doing for an Romanian website, and that makes us extremely happy! We also are glad to find out about his next collaborations, also exclusively. For Kourosh, the featuring with Anda Adam is not the first or the last with an romanian artist. We were truly glad to find out that the next singles will be featuring Andreea Antonescu (Miss Ventura) and Ellie White!
What he said about the period before “Can U feel love”, about Anda Adam, his personal life, but also other new things, only in the exclusive interview for Virtual Team. ENJOY!
Hi and thank you for making this interview with us…
Hello, thanks, it’s my pleasure. I’m glad to do this interview with you guys, thank you for having me!
Portugal has only positive words about you. How is to be one of the most promising names of Portugal as a dj?
Well, it’s a wonderful feeling! It’s something I have been working very hard for and it seems like the hard work is finally paying off.
What insipires you when it comes to music?
Well, a lot of my favorite artists inspire me, such as Tiesto, David Guetta and specially my all time favorite, portuguese DJ, DJ Vibe. Also knowing that people will be listening to my music and being able to share my music and emotions with them is a big inspiration as well.
Recently you launched the single “Can U feel love”. Can we say that is a new chapter in your career?
Definitely, “Can U feel love” is a new chapter in my career! First of all, it is a change of the style of music I usually produce, it is my first “mainstream” song. I used to produce more progressive house music. “Can U feel love” has had amazing feedback, it is radio friendly and a song witch without a doubt was worthy of having a video clip made for it. And for me, it’s my first video, so it’s a wonderful start.
How was Kourosh Tazmini before this single? What were the things that brought only positive words about?
Well, it all started with my record label “Emmo Records” I opened it in early 2005. We would release music from myself and artists around the world, both on vinyl and mp3. That definitely opened doors for me and made me get more contacts in the music world.
In 2006 I was invited to be the resident DJ of one of Portugal Greatest and Historic night Club’s, Coconuts, which is in Cascais, my home town. I played there for 3 years.
In 2007 I was nominated and won the award as “Best upcoming Dj” (Dj Revelacao) of the high profile award ceremony “Portugal Night Awards”. That was a big step for me. Thanks to that award I started djing all over the country in the best clubs and I played along side some of the biggest djs in the world. I played with Dj Tiesto in 2 of his shows while he was on tour his in Portugal. Also I played along side superstars such as David Guetta, Bob Sinclar, Pete Tha Zouk and many more.
In 2008 I was nominated “Best Producer” of the Portugal Night Awards, along side Mastiksoul, Pedro Cazanova, Carlos Fauvrelle and John-E. It was an honor for me to be considered one of the best of my country. Also my song “Fable” was featured on Dj Tiesto’s Radio Show ,”Tiesto’s Clublife”. At that time I was the only producer from Portugal to have support by Tiesto. That was a big boost for my career!
“Can U feel love” came with a surprising featuring. Why Anda Adam and not someone else?
I had seen some posts by her on Myspace. I liked her voice so I mailed her asking if she would like to do a featuring with me. I sent her one of my tracks and she liked it and agreed to do it. I wanted to work with Anda, because I like her work and I think she is a great performer!
Have you been watching in a special way the evolution of romanian artists?
Yes, of course! That is another reason I was proud to work with a romanian singer, because there was suddenly a huge boom from Romania in the dance music world, specially with Inna and Edward Maya being the first ones to have huge hits here…
Not only the single enjoyed Anda Adam’s presence, also the video. It was hard to work with her? How you would describe her?
It was really cool working with Anda. She is very professional, well organized and takes her work very seriously. She was very kind and easy to work with. I now consider her a very good friend!
As far as we know, the video was shoot since October. It is the result a satisfactory one for you?
Oh, definitely, the video quality and production turned out amazing. I am very happy with it. The production team did an excellent job both in directing and in the production. We were lucky to shoot the video in the beginning of October while it was sunny, a few days after we filmed the video it started to rain.
We noticed that, after the video was launched, you received a lot of romanian friend requests on Facebook, did this surprised you somehow?
That made me very happy. It’s always good to get new fans from different countries. People were very kind and had only positive things to say. I wasn’d so surprised, because I started getting friend requests from romanian people since last year, when people first heard about my collaboration with Anda. Nevertheless it’s a great feeling!
How this single was received in Portugal? We know that it was signed by VIDISCO, the biggest label from there…
In Portugal it has been getting a very positive feedback, we have had a lot of airplay on important radio stations and have reached first position on dance charts. It is great to be part of the Vidisco / Exklusive Records Team, I am one of their exclusive artists and it’s an honor to work with them! I would like to also take this chance to thank Roton for their amazing support!
About the future, with who you would like to work from the romanian artists and what other plans do you have?
My next single will be released featuring the voice of Miss Ventura (Andreea Antonescu) and with a follow up of a a single featuring Ellie White, which I am working on. I just finished some remixes, one of them is a remix of the classic hit “Sweet Dreams”… I have also done a remake of the Robert Miles classic track “Fable”, which includes the voice of another great Romanian artist, Alexandra Ungureanu.
We will take advantage of the situation and if you allow us, we gone go to a more intimate level. It is true that you have a relationship with a romanian girl?
Yes, it is true. I am in a relationship with a beautiful romanian girl, Victoria 🙂
How do you came to know each other?
We met in Portugal, two years ago, in a friends wedding party on the beach…
If it wouldn’t be the music, what else you would have done?
Film Directing or Acting!
In the end, can you recommend three songs, for the people who read this interview…
- Jelly For The Babies Feat. Vuk Lazar – Shade Of Love
- Soul Playerz – Reload
- Diogo Menasso feat. Vuk Lazar – Dub Me (Vocal Mix)
