EXCLUSIVE. Interview with Vita Chambers: “I think I need to make a trip to Romania soon!”

She became well know on a social network, she signed with a label at 16 years, she sang next with Justin Bieber and she has the same origins as Rihanna or Shantelle. In the first EXCLUSIVE interview of 2013, virtual-team.is-great.net has the pleasure to bring you Vita Chambers, the artist we recommended couple weeks ago, when she launched her video for the amazing song “Fix you!”.

We would like you to know more about Vita Chambers thanks to her interesting road she had, but also because she is one of  the most promising artist of 2013. Her last single, “Fix you”, is a strong pop-dance song, combined with dubstep and techno influence. However, a true smash hit that reaches everybody’s ears and wins important places in the rightful charts…

EXCLUSIVELY  for Romania, the artist accepted Virtual-Team’s invitation right away and she answered some of our questions. We found out how she got the news when she signed her first contract with a label, but also how came the possibility to sing next to Justin Bieber in his 2010 tour , “My World Tour”.  And because many of his fans recognized her once with the “Fix you” video, we also took advantage to find out more about their relationship and how he is in real life.

About “Fix you” we found out that is a very important part of her life. When we talked about her video for the first time, we told you that Vita takes part involuntary to the fights that her girlfriend has with her boyfriend, only by watching the whole thing without to intervene between the two of them.  In the end, she tells her friend to leave the house even by stealing a car.  However, all these were shoot in New York. Also there, Vita works so hard to her new album and to the other songs that will came after “Fix you”!

Hi, nice to meet you and thank you for having this interview with us…

Thank you for this interview. I’m flattered.

For those who don’t know you that much, let’s try to send them back to those things that you enjoyed the most in your music career and let’s start by asking you if you still remember what was your reaction when you got your first contract with a music company? Let’s mention that this offer came at short time after you shared on MySpace some of your songs and you were only 16, a very important thing…

The day I found out that I was going to be signed I couldn’t contain myself. I had just come home from school on my 16th birthday, after a long day of exams and my mom told me the good news. I screamed at the top of my lungs with excitement. It is one of my favourite days.

Was pure luck or did you expected that the things turn up like this?

To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect. I guess I was hoping for something to happen, I just didn’t know what.

How come that you got to perform next to Justin Bieber everywhere in the world, in the opening of his tour “My world tour” in 2010?

My label thought it would be a great opportunity and organized it. I had an AMAZING time!

What did you learned from that tour, as a first important event that you took part of?

I learned to savour every moment because the time flew by so quickly and before I knew it the tour was over.

What’s your relationship with Justin Bieber now?

We’re friends.

In dialy life, is it any different from how everybody knows him?

Despite what people may say, I have the utmost respect for him as an artist and as a person.

Let’s come back to you. Somehow, the fact that you share the same homecountry, Barbados, with Rihanna or Shontelle, makes people to associate you with them. How do you feel about it?

I am a fan of both artists and feel honoured to have grown up in the same environment.

We notice that you already have an EP launched and in present day you prepare a new album. In what stage it is?

Still in the creative stage.

Can we expect any surprising featuring once you launch it?

You will have to wait and see.

What can you tell us about the song “Fix You”, the last promoted, the one we also recomanded last week?

First of all thank you for your recommendation. “Fix You” has been an amazing part of my life and still continues to be. Being a writer on it has given me a very rewarding badge of accomplishment for myself. The lyrics take on many different meanings for each listener and everyday I am learning from my fans about their stories and experiences. I couldn’t be happier that people are able to relate to it.

Where was the video shoot and what’s the actual story behind it?

The video was shot in New York City. It’s about me saving someone from an abusive relationship.

If we were to remake this interview by the end of 2013, what would be your favorite topics?

My second and third singles.

I take advantage that we are chatting and I want to ask you what’s your opinion about romanian music, about artists like Inna, Alexandra Stan, Edward Maya etc?

I love Inna’s music. My favourite song by her is “Amazing” and judging from the guys in her video I think I need to make a trip to Romania soon!

A devenit cunoscuta pe o retea de socializare, a semnat cu un label inca de la 16 ani, a cantat alaturi de Justin Bieber si are aceleasi origini precum Rihanna sau Shontelle. In primul interviu EXCLUSIV pe 2013, virtual-team.is-great.net are placerea de a va face cunostiinta cu Vita Chambers, artista pe care v-am recomandat-o saptamaniile trecute, atunci cand si-a lansat videoclipul SUPER piesei “Fix you”!

Ne-am dorit sa stiti mai multe despre Vita Chambers gratie parcursului interesant pe care l-a avut, cat si pentru faptul ca e una dintre cele mai promitatoare artiste ale lui 2013. Ultimul sau single, “Fix you”, este o puternica piesa pop – dance, combinata cu elemente de dubstep si techno. Altfel spus, un smash HIT veritabil care incet incet ajunge la urechea tuturor si castiga pozitii importante in topurile de specialitate…

In EXCLUSIVITATE pentru Romania, artista a acceptat deschis invitatia Virtual-Team de a ne raspunde la cateva intrebari. Am reusit cu ocazia aceasta sa aflam cum a primit marea veste atunci cand a semnat cu primul sau label, dar si cum a aparut posibilitatea de a canta alaturi de Justin Bieber, in deschiderea turneului sau din 2010, “My World Tour”. Si pentru ca multi fani ai artistului au recunoscut-o odata cu lansarea videoclipului “Fix you”, am insistat sa ne referim si la stadiul relatiei lor, cat si la felul in care-l priveste.

Despre “Fix you” am primit certitudinea ca evolueaza ca o parte importanta din viata sa. Atunci cand am vorbit prima oara despre videoclipul ei, va spuneam ca artista i-a parte involuntar la certurile pe care le indura prietena sa cu actualul iubit, doar urmarind situatia, fara sa intervina intre cei doi. La sfarsit, ea intervine si ii propune amicei sa paraseasca locuinta, chiar cu pretul unui furt de masina. Ei bine, toate scenele acestea au fost filmate in New York. Tot de acolo artista lucreaza intens la noul sau album si la piesele care o vor succeda pe actuala!

Ce ne-a spus despre comparatia cu Rihanna, despre Romania si muzica de aici, va invitam sa aflati din interviul de mai jos!

Pentru cei care te cunosc mai putin, o sa incercam sa facem trimitere la cat mai multe lucruri de care te-ai bucurat deja in cariera ta muzicala si o sa incepem prin a te intreba daca-ti mai amintesti ce reactie ai avut atunci cand ai primit prima propunere de a semna cu o companie muzicala? Sa mentionam ca propunerea aceasta a venit la scurt timp dupa ce tu ai postat cateva piese pe Myspace si ca pe atunci nu aveai decat 16 ani, lucru extrem de important…

Cand am aflat ca o sa semnez cu o companie muzicala nu am putut sa ma regasesc. Doar ce venisem de la scoala, in ziua cand am implinit 16 ani, dupa o zi lunga de examene, iar mama mea mi-a dat vestea cea mare. Am tipat cat m-au tinut puterile de bucurie. A fost si inca e una dintre zilele mele preferate!

A fost noroc sau te asteptai ca lucrurile sa decurga in felul acesta?

Ca sa fiu sincera, nu am stiut ce asteptam. Vroiam ca ceva sa se intample, doar ca nu stiam ce…

Cum s-a ajuns ca in 2010 sa canti alaturi de Justin Bieber, peste tot in lume, in deschiderea turneului sau “My world tour”?

Label-ul meu a considerat ca este o buna oportunitate si a organizat asta. A fost o perioada grozava!

Ce ai invatat de la acel turneu, ca prim eveniment important la care ai participat?

Am invatat sa savurez fiecare moment pentru ca timpul zboara foarte repede. Doar ca asta s-a intamplat dupa ce turneul se terminase deja.

Cum te mai intelegi in clipa de fata cu Justin Bieber?

Suntem prieteni.

In realitate, e diferit fata de cum il cunoaste toata lumea?

Departe de ceea ce spune lumea, am cel mai mare respect pentru el, atat ca artist, cat si ca persoana!

Hai sa ne intoarcem la tine. Inevitabil, faptul ca ai origini din Barbados, la fel ca Rihanna sau Shontelle, ii face pe multi sa te asocieze cu ele. Cum ti se par aceste asocieri?

Sunt fana ambelor artiste si ma simt onorata sa fiu comparata cu ele.

Observam ca ai deja un EP lansat si ca in prezent pregatesti si un nou album. In ce stadiu e?

E inca in faza de creatie…

Sa ne asteptam si la vreo colaborare inedita odata cu lansarea acestui album?

Va trebui sa asteptati ca sa vedeti asta!

Ce ne poti spune despre piesa “Fix you”, ultima promovata pe care noi am si recomandat-o saptamanile trecute?

In primul rand, multumesc pentru recomandarea voastra. “Fix you” a fost o parte importanta din viata mea si continua sa fie. Fiind cea care a compus-o, este ca un premiu adus mie insami pentru ca am reusit asta.  Versurile ofera diferite intelesuri pentru fiecare ascultator si in fiecare zi invat de la fanii mei povestile si experientele lor. Faptul ca ei se regasesc in piesa ma fac nespus de fericita.

Unde a fost filmat videoclipul si care este de fapt povestea lui?

Videoclipul a fost filmat in New York. Povestea lui ma are in prim plan salvand pe cineva dintr-o relatie abuziva.

Daca ar fi sa reluam acest interviu la sfarsitul lui 2013, despre ce ti-ar placea sa vorbim?

Mi-ar placea sa vorbim despre al doilea si al treilea meu single 🙂

Profit de faptul ca stam de vorba si vreau sa te mai intreb ce parere ai despre muzica din Romania, despre artisti precum Inna, Alexandra Stan, Edward Maya etc?

Imi place muzica Innei. Piesa mea preferata de la ea este “Amazing” si,  judecand dupa cum arata baietii din videoclip, cred ca trebuie sa vizitez Romania cat mai curand!
